Pixodaros assumed power in circa 341/0 BC by overthrowing his sister Ada, making him the last of the five children of Hekatomnos to become Satrap of Caria. However, he died shortly before the arrival of Alexander 'the Great' in Asia Minor, who reinstalled Ada to power after she had demonstratively adopted the Macedonian King upon his arrival in 334 BC.
